My name is Leena, and I'm writing this blog together with my partner Anssi. This blog is about sharing our travelling experiences from upcoming trip to New York (October 2009) and trips after that.
We made a work distribution with Anssi: since part of my friends don't understand Finnish, I will be writing mainly in English and Anssi will be writing in Finnish (since all our buddies and relatives don't speak English).
We have made some preparations for the forthcoming trip. We're spending 11 nights in New York, so we decided to buy 7 day New York passes (http://www.newyorkpass.com/). Those passes were delivered last week by post. There were no problems, even scandinavic letters (for example ä) were right in the address. Two passes costed us 155$ per pass + 20$ delivery, total 330$.
We also had to fill in visa waiver-applications in the Internet. That was quite easy and it didn't take much time. Some of the questions were funny: for example I had to assure, that I didn't belong to the nazi party 41 years before I was born.
We also bougth tickets to New York Rangers game :D The only problem was that confirmation of order Anssi recieved to his e-mail said that the tickets will be sent to Bologna, Italy, not to Finland. We'll see if the tickets ever reach us...
Update by Anssi: Rangers tickets will be delivered to us via email on mid of sebtember. When I corrected my delivery address, they suggested ticketmaster email delivery which also saves us 25$ delivery fees.
